Privacy

This page describes exactly how Boat Economics handles your data. It is kept current as the product changes, not rewritten after the fact.

There is no account, ever, for basic use

You never need to sign up, log in, or hand over an email address to use a Boat Economics engine. No customer database exists on our end because none is needed.

What My Boat Plan stores, and where

My Boat Plan lets you save reusable details, a boat's value, your typical use days, your storage setup, so you don't retype them into every engine. That data lives only in your own browser's local storage, never uploaded to a server, never required to get an answer, and always visible and editable on the page that uses it. Saving is an explicit action you take after seeing a result, not a gate in front of one. You can remove a single saved field or clear the whole plan at any time.

Analytics

We run Google Analytics 4 to see aggregate traffic and which engines get used, with every advertising signal switched off so it never builds an ad profile. Visitors in the EU, UK, EEA, and Switzerland get a cookieless version automatically and see no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to; a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser turns off analytics anywhere else too. Raw financial or usage figures you type into an engine, boat value, income, use days, are never sent to analytics, only anonymous interaction events like "an engine was viewed."

Standard hosting logs

Cloudflare, our host, keeps the routine server logs any site needs to operate and to fend off abuse (IP address, browser type, requested page). That is infrastructure housekeeping, not a record built to identify an individual visitor.

This page is kept current as the product changes; a data-handling change lands here before or alongside the change itself. Questions go to privacy@boateconomics.com.
